12th Annual Golf Tournament: Honouring the Memory of Doug Lloyd
The Help and Legal Centre of Northumberland is excited to once again be planning to
welcome golf enthusiasts back to the course. On September 13th, golfers will take to
the Shelter Valley Pines Golf Course for 9 holes of golf and fellowship while helping to
raise critical funds to support our community’s most vulnerable residents.
This year’s tournament is extra special as organizers honour the memory of Doug
Lloyd, tournament founder. Doug worked tirelessly to build this tournament into a
successful fundraiser for many years before his passing in January 2022.
Proceeds will help the organization provide housing, legal, literacy, and income support
to thousands of low-income residents in Northumberland.
“It is increasingly difficult to maintain decent employment, find safe and affordable
housing, and pay utility bills,” states Beth Bellaire, Chair of the Board. “That is where
our organization steps in and helps to fill the gaps and assist people and families with
both dignity and respect.”
There are several opportunities to become involved ranging from sponsorship, to
donating towards the auction/raffle, to registering to play at a price of $75 per golfer.
