Housing Support Programs
Housing Support Program
- I need to find new affordable housing
- I need help completing housing forms and rent-geared-to-income applications
- I don’t have transportation to get to rental viewing appointments
Rent Smart Training Sessions
- I want to learn to be a better tenant so I can live here for a long time
- I don’t understand what my rights are as a renter
- I don’t understand what the landlord’s rights are
- I need to learn about the “do’s” and “don’ts” of maintenance as a renter
Support for Seniors
- I live alone and feel isolated in Northumberland County
- I have recently lost a loved one and am overwhelmed with how to navigate social services
- I don’t know how to apply for government benefits, such as CPP, OAS, GIS
- Going to medical appointments is overwhelming and I need someone there to advocate for me
- I need to learn about services to help me improve my financial and social health

Financial Security Programs
- I haven’t filed my income taxes, and the government may owe me a refund
- I can’t afford my electricity bill and am looking for assistance
- I haven’t paid my heating bill and am looking for a subsidy
- I can never seem to stick to my budget, and need someone to review my income and to help me to set a reasonable budget
